Iranian officials said on Friday that in the first seven months of this year, the country’s non-oil exports to Afghanistan reached 1.3 billion dollars.
“Tehran Times” newspaper quoted Mohammad Rezvanifar, head of Iran’s customs department, as reporting that Afghanistan was the fifth largest importer of non-oil products from Iran in the last seven months.
Last August, the Economic Attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Kabul said that in order to develop Iran’s commercial presence in the Afghan markets, the commercial relations between the two countries should be upgraded to a new level of cooperation.
The National Statistical Office of the Taliban government announced last month that Afghanistan’s exports reached 1.8 billion dollars and its imports reached 8.1 billion dollars in 1402, which shows a difference of about 6.3 billion dollars between imports and exports.
