Donald Trump, the former U.S. president, has stated that he may meet and hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky next week.
According to Reuters, Trump mentioned this following a meeting with Shigeru Ishiba, the Prime Minister of Japan, adding that the discussion will focus on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the country’s assets, including rare minerals.
He further stated, “I would like to see this resolved on a humanitarian basis; this is a ridiculous war.”
The former U.S. president also indicated that he might meet and hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During his election campaigns, Trump repeatedly claimed that if he were to return to the White House, he would bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
