North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has criticized military cooperation between the United States, Japan, and South Korea, stating that his country will expand its nuclear forces to counter threats from these three nations.

According to Reuters, Kim made this statement yesterday during a visit to North Korea’s Ministry of Defense, adding that the military collaboration among these countries has heightened regional tensions and posed a serious challenge to the security environment.

He further stated, “North Korea does not seek unnecessary tensions in the region; however, continuous countermeasures will be taken to ensure military capabilities in the area.”

The North Korean leader warned that his country would respond to threats from the U.S., South Korea, and Japan by expanding its nuclear forces.
