The construction of a bridge and a 60-meter retaining wall at the headworks of Dasht-e Archi district canal has begun with financial support from a Chinese gold-washing company.

Mawlawi Esmatullah Osama, the district governor of Dasht-e Archi, stated that due to the activities of the Chinese gold-washing company and the increased water levels, certain sections of the canal’s headworks required repairs. The construction of these structures will help prevent further damage to the canal.

He mentioned that this project has a budget of $40,000 and is expected to be completed within the next month.

It is worth noting that the Dasht-e Archi district canal originates from the Kokcha River in Khwaja Ghar district of Takhar province and irrigates thousands of acres of land in the district.
