Hamas has announced that it, along with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, will release three Israeli hostages today (Saturday, February 14) in accordance with the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

According to a report by Al Jazeera, Hamas announced yesterday that the hostages to be released are Alexander Turbanov, Yair Horn, and Sagi Dekel Chen.

Al Jazeera added that the Israeli Prime Minister’s office has also confirmed receiving the names of the three hostages.

Previously, Hamas had announced that the release of these hostages would be delayed until further notice.

Hamas cited Israel’s refusal to allow the entry of equipment for building mobile homes, fuel, and other necessary supplies into Gaza as the reason for the delay.

However, after two days of talks in Cairo, Hamas stated that it would release the hostages as originally scheduled, and the obstacles to the entry of supplies into Gaza had been removed.
