Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas, has called for the formation of a national unity government to govern Gaza after the end of the Israeli war in the region.
Haniyeh told Turkey’s Anatolia news agency: “Hamas does not insist on being the sole source of the administration of Gaza, but we are part of the Palestinian people and we can create a national unity government based on participation and reach an agreement on the administration of Gaza.” These are national issues. “We will not allow the Palestinian situation in Gaza, the West Bank or both to be regulated by the occupiers or anyone else.”
He added that Hamas has given a two-stage call to regulate the internal politics of Palestine.
