The construction of a bridge and a 60-meter retaining wall at the headworks of Dasht-e Archi district canal has begun with financial support from a Chinese gold-washing company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mawlawi Esmatullah Osama, the district governor of Dasht-e Archi, stated that due to the activities of the Chinese gold-washing company and the increased water levels, certain sections of the canal\u2019s headworks required repairs. The construction of these structures will help prevent further damage to the canal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He mentioned that this project has a budget of $40,000 and is expected to be completed within the next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is worth noting that the Dasht-e Archi district canal originates from the Kokcha River in Khwaja Ghar district of Takhar province and irrigates thousands of acres of land in the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
