Saudi Arabia on Sunday (October 19) welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Afghanistan and Pakistan, which was signed in Doha following deadly clashes between the two countries. The agreement was mediated by Qatar and T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Kingdom supports the signing of the urgent ceasefire deal and the establishment of mechanisms aimed at achieving peace and lasting stability between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomes the emergency ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan and the creation of mechanisms to strengthen peace and lasting stability through the Doha dialogue process,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Riyadh also praised the mediation efforts of Qatar and T\u00fcrkiye in facilitating dialogue between both sides and reaffirmed its support for all regional and international initiatives that promote peace and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Saudi Foreign Ministry further expressed hope that the Doha agreement will pave the way for a permanent reduction of tensions and violence between Afghanistan and Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, Qatar had announced that following the mediation by Doha and Ankara, both countries reached an agreement on an immediate ceasefire, and additional meetings to ensure the continuation of the deal would soon be held in T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
