Shakib stated that following recent incidents and unrest, Pakistan has closed its joint border routes with Afghanistan, which has completely halted trade, transit, and people\u2019s movement between the two countries. According to embassy figures, nearly ten thousand Afghan refugees have so far been detained by Pakistani police and sent to detention centers. Thousands more, fearing arrest, have gathered their belongings but are unable to leave Pakistan due to the closed routes.
