Speaking on Friday evening, Trump said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe seized the ship, we seized the cargo, we seized the oil. It\u2019s a very profitable business. We are like pirates. We are sort of like pirates, but we\u2019re not playing games.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The U.S. president also claimed that Iran has acted in a bullying manner toward countries in the region over the past 47 years, including Israel, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump further referred to past U.S. policy decisions, stating that the overthrow of Saddam Hussein\u2019s government in Iraq under George W. Bush was a mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
