Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a joint statement claiming that an attack was carried out against Izz al-Din al-Haddad, the head of Hamas\u2019s military wing in Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement by Netanyahu and Katz said that al-Haddad was targeted due to his \u201cresponsibility for the killing, kidnapping, and injuring of thousands of Israeli civilians and Israel Defense Forces soldiers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hamas has not yet commented on the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite former Trump peace plans for Gaza, clashes continue in the region. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, since the ceasefire declared last October, nearly 850 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
