According to a report by Reuters published today, Hegseth made these remarks during his first appearance before lawmakers since the resumption of large-scale military strikes against Iran. He urged Congress to approve emergency funding without delay to support the continuation of the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also called on lawmakers not only to pass the supplemental funding package but also to approve the Pentagon’s $1.5 trillion budget request for fiscal year 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
