Al Jazeera reported today that dozens of families have been evacuated from severely affected areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Algeria\u2019s Interior Minister Sa\u00efd Sayoud said the victims died in the provinces of Jijel, B\u00e9ja\u00efa and Tipaza. He added that 54 cases of burns have been treated in hospitals, with six of the injured in critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sayoud said civil defense forces recorded 154 fires across Algeria yesterday, of which 18 have been brought under control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fires come amid an intense heatwave affecting Algeria and neighboring Tunisia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Algeria frequently experiences deadly wildfires during the peak summer months. Last month alone, at least six people were killed in such fires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
