Afghanistan and India held a joint virtual meeting to discuss ways to facilitate bilateral trade and strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indian media reported that the meeting was held on September 1 with the participation of officials from both countries, including representatives from the trade, industry, customs, regulatory institutions, and diplomatic missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two sides discussed removing trade barriers, customs cooperation, facilitating visa issuance for Afghan traders, banking and financial cooperation, trade in medicines and agricultural products, energy cooperation, investment, tariff concessions, transportation of goods, and issues related to ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Afghanistan and India also emphasized strengthening institutional cooperation, exchanging customs information, improving regulatory coordination in the pharmaceutical and agricultural sectors, enhancing trade routes, and increasing investment and cooperation between companies from the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two countries agreed to continue communication and follow up on the issues discussed, with the aim of strengthening trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Kabul and New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
