According to its findings, the country\u2019s total road network exceeds 245,000 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the authority, 18,241 kilometers of these roads are paved, while more than 226,000 kilometers are unpaved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The authority adds that, based on its assessment, Kabul has the longest paved road network in the country, with 4,084 kilometers, while Nuristan has the shortest, with only 12 kilometers of paved roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the National Statistics and Information Authority, around 41 percent of the rural population has access to paved roads, 63 percent has access to major roads, and 96 percent of the rural population has access to the country\u2019s entire road network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The authority says determining the total length of the country\u2019s road network will help provide a clearer picture of Afghanistan\u2019s transportation situation, assess infrastructure, and provide accurate data for future development plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>#StatisticsAndInformation #Afghanistan #Roads #Transport #Development #Kabul #Nuristan<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Statistics and Information Authority says that, for the first time, it has determined the total length of Afghanistan\u2019s road network.
