Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, has stated that his country will not accept negotiations with the U.S. under pressure or threats.
Pezeshkian made this remark yesterday afternoon at the “Iran Entrepreneurs Forum” in response to a letter sent by U.S. President Donald Trump to Iran. He emphasized that Iran seeks relations with all countries but will not bow to any individual.
He added: “It is unacceptable for us that the U.S. dictates terms and threatens us. I will not even talk to you; do whatever you want.”
Last week, Donald Trump announced that he had sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, urging Iran to engage in negotiations with the U.S. over its nuclear program. Otherwise, he warned, the U.S. would resort to military action.
Ayatollah Khamenei had previously stated that Iran would not engage in talks with the U.S. under pressure and threats.
