The main highway between Badakhshan and Takhar has been closed due to flooding.
Mohammad Akram Akbari, head of the Badakhshan Directorate for Disaster Management, said the Badakhshan-Takhar highway was closed to traffic this morning following heavy rainfall and flooding.
He stated that efforts are currently underway to reopen the highway.
He also advised passengers and drivers to avoid traveling until the road is reopened.
So far, there have been no reports of casualties or damage caused by the flooding in the area.
