Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce says that Nooruddin Azizi, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, met with Nikita Korniyenko, Minister of International and Interregional Cooperation of Russia’s Chelyabinsk Region, and his accompanying delegation.
According to the ministry, the meeting focused on expanding economic relations, improving coordination between traders from both sides, exporting Afghan goods to the Chelyabinsk Region, importing Russian machinery and modern technologies into Afghanistan, and banking cooperation.
Emphasizing the development of Afghanistan’s exports to Russia, Nooruddin Azizi said: “We are ready to establish a center for the distribution of Russian goods in Afghanistan, as well as a market for Afghan products in this region.”
The Minister of International and Interregional Cooperation of the Chelyabinsk Region also welcomed the expansion of trade with Afghanistan and invited a delegation from the Islamic Emirate, including private-sector representatives, to visit the region to help establish coordination between traders from both sides.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce said both sides described the meeting as productive and emphasized further expansion of economic and trade relations between Afghanistan and Russia.
