Following a shooting near the “Jewish Museum of the Capital” in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States, two employees of the Israeli Embassy were killed.

According to Reuters, the shooting occurred on Wednesday evening local time, and the victims were a man and a woman.

U.S. authorities have announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with the incident, but have not provided details about the suspect’s identity or the motive behind the shooting.

Pamela Smith, the Chief of Washington Police, stated that the suspect had been walking near the museum before the event began and, after being arrested, shouted the slogan “Free Palestine.”
