According to reports, former U.S. President Donald Trump has said he expects a ceasefire to take place in Gaza “next week.”

He made these remarks on Friday during a conversation with journalists, stating that he is only speaking with those involved in securing a ceasefire and a deal for the release of hostages.

Trump did not provide further details on the matter.

Reports indicate that he has put pressure on Israel to end its ongoing war with Hamas following the recent conflict with Iran.

Trump described the situation in Gaza as “horrific” and said, “We are sending financial aid and food to Gaza because it is our duty.”

He also called on other countries to participate in delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Trump’s remarks come as Israeli airstrikes in Gaza continue, with at least 60 Palestinians reportedly killed since Friday.
