Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, in a speech in the state of Florida, criticized former President Joe Biden’s administration for the way American forces withdrew from Afghanistan. He described the withdrawal as a disastrous and tragic retreat that resonated around the world.
Hegseth stated that the main reason for the withdrawal from Afghanistan was not the weakness of military forces, but rather the political weakness of the Biden administration.
He also spoke about the need to end the wave of 21 million illegal immigrants in the United States, adding that his generation spent two decades defending other nations’ borders in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. According to him, “Now it’s time to defend our own borders.”
