Tajikistan has initiated the forced deportation of Afghans, including undocumented migrants, citing concerns over smuggling, use of forged documents, and violations of national laws.
The Tajikistan State Committee for National Security stated that cases of drug trafficking, the spread of extremism, and illegal attempts to cross into other countries have been identified among these refugees.
Some Afghan migrants have already been deported, and the process will continue for those who have violated Tajikistan’s laws.
This comes as the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has deployed relevant task forces to the Sher Khan border crossing to monitor the deportation process.
