India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, arrived in Moscow on Wednesday to hold talks with senior Russian officials, including discussions on the situation in Afghanistan.
According to Indian media reports, both sides are expected to focus on developments in Afghanistan, particularly Russia’s recognition of the Islamic Emirate.
About a month ago, Russia announced that it had accepted the credentials of the new Afghan ambassador, becoming the first country to officially recognize the Islamic Emirate.
Doval’s visit comes at a time when India and the United States are engaged in a trade dispute.
