Russian President Vladimir Putin has held a phone conversation with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. During the call, Putin briefed Kim Jong Un on the planned talks with U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska later this week. According to North Korea’s state news agency, the two leaders discussed expanding relations based on last year’s strategic cooperation agreement. The report added that Putin thanked North Korea for its assistance in the battle to “liberate” the Kursk region and praised the bravery of the country’s soldiers.
