U.S. President Donald Trump, during a meeting with European leaders at the White House, said that in his view Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to provide security guarantees for Ukraine. He praised the European leaders in the meeting and added that afterward, he held a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart to help pave the way for a meeting between him and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Meanwhile, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that a meeting between Putin and Zelensky will take place within the next two weeks.
