Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, visited the ongoing reconstruction work on the Salang Highway today, Sunday (August 31).
The Office of the Deputy for Economic Affairs, in a statement, said that during the visit, Mullah Baradar emphasized the timely and high-quality completion of the project before the arrival of winter.
Project officials assured that the reconstruction work is continuing in line with technical standards and, according to the schedule, will be completed by this winter.
According to them, the reconstruction of galleries 10 to 15 in the southern part of Salang has been completed, and overall, the project has made 55% progress so far. Meanwhile, reconstruction work in the northern part of Salang is also moving forward rapidly.
