In a press release, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum stated that Sheikh Abdul Rahman Qanit, Deputy Minister for Policy and Programs, met with an advisor from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport and the deputy head of that country’s railway company. The statement said the two sides discussed various topics, particularly strengthening ties between the two countries.
The Kazakh transport ministry’s advisor expressed interest in investing in Afghanistan’s mining sector and thanked the ministry’s leadership for their hospitality. In response, the deputy minister welcomed their investment interest and assured cooperation regarding mining laws and procedures.
