While leaders of Arab and Islamic countries have gathered in Qatar to express solidarity with Doha following Israel’s attack, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, says that Hamas leaders will be targeted wherever they are.
Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, also stated that the only way to end the war in Gaza is for Hamas fighters to release all hostages and surrender.
He said that while the United States seeks a diplomatic end to the war, “we must be prepared for the possibility that this will not happen.”
Meanwhile, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, in his speech at the emergency meeting of Arab and Islamic countries in Doha, called for “practical and decisive steps” in response to Israel’s “cowardly and treacherous” attack. He said the attack took place while Hamas leaders were considering a U.S. ceasefire proposal.
