Due to ongoing clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, today marks the fifth consecutive day that transit routes between the two countries remain closed. According to sources, all routes—including Torkham and Spin Boldak—are blocked for both passengers and heavy cargo trucks. Although an apparent ceasefire has been declared between the two sides, there is still no sign of the roads reopening. Sources indicate that the risk of fighting resuming remains high at any moment.
Meanwhile, at the Torkham, Spin Boldak, and Ghulam Khan border crossings, commercial cargo trucks on both sides of the imaginary border line are still stuck, and traders have criticized the situation, warning that their goods are at risk of spoilage. Due to the ongoing crisis, traders have suffered heavy financial losses, and with each passing day, the disaster continues to escalate.
