The Afghanistan section of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced that Italy has contributed two million euros to Afghanistan.

In a press release issued today in Kabul, the agency stated that the funds will be used to address the needs of returning Afghans.

The UNHCR added that more than 20,000 people, over half of whom are women and girls, will benefit from this support.

The return of Afghan migrants from Iran and Pakistan continues, with hundreds of people arriving daily in Afghanistan through border crossings with the two countries.
