The spokesperson of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Homayoon Afghan, has said that so far, numerous contracts have been signed with domestic companies for small- and large-scale mining projects.
He added that some Iranian companies have also expressed interest in investing in lead and zinc mines.
According to Afghan, one of the conditions set by the Ministry for awarding contracts is that, after extraction begins, companies must establish facilities for processing minerals inside the country.
