At least 15 people have been killed and around 40 others injured after a shooting during a Jewish religious ceremony at Bondi Beach in the city of Sydney, Australia. According to police officials, the condition of some of the wounded is critical, and two police officers are also among the injured.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon, and security authorities have described it as a “targeted anti-Semitic attack.”

Australian police announced that two attackers were involved in the shooting. One of the attackers was killed at the scene, while the other is in critical condition and is receiving treatment in hospital.

Witnesses said the shooting lasted for about 10 minutes and caused widespread panic at Bondi Beach, which was crowded at the time due to the warm weather.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the attack “a dark moment for the nation” and, while condemning it, emphasized the government’s support for the Jewish community.
