The European Union Delegation in Afghanistan has announced a €7 million assistance package for rural families. EU representative Veronika Boskovic Pohar stated that through this support, even families in remote areas will be able to protect their assets against the impacts of climate change. The program has been designed to strengthen rural communities against natural disasters such as droughts and floods, while also creating small-scale economic opportunities.
