Mohammed Ali Al-Haddad Killed
The Turkish Ministry of Interior confirmed in a statement that the wreckage of the plane carrying Libya’s Chief of Staff, Mohammed Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad, was found near Ankara. Libya’s Presidential Council also confirmed that Al-Haddad was killed along with several other high-ranking military officials. According to the Turkish Interior Minister, the plane requested an emergency landing about 40 minutes into the flight over the Himana area near Ankara, but radio contact was lost shortly afterward.
