In the latest wave of Russian drone and missile attacks on parts of Ukraine, at least two people have been killed and 32 others injured.
Al Jazeera reported early this morning that following the attacks, electricity has been cut off in large areas of Ukraine, leaving about one-third of the capital without heating as temperatures hover near zero degrees Celsius.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia targeted “energy facilities and civilian infrastructure” using around 500 drones and 40 missiles in these attacks.
Ukraine’s energy company also reported that power outages have affected more than one million homes in Kyiv and surrounding areas.
