The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have reported that detentions and arrests of Afghans in Pakistan have increased by 18% this month. According to the organizations, between January 4 and 10, 73% of the detentions occurred in Balochistan and 16% in Islamabad. From September 15 to January 10, a total of 130,999 Afghans were detained, with the highest number of arrests recorded in Balochistan.
