Ahead of the arrival of U.S. President Donald Trump in the Swiss city of Davos, protests were held in several cities across the country, some of which turned into clashes between demonstrators and the police.
Fox News reported today that during the protests, U.S. flags were set on fire, and police used water cannons and riot-control equipment to disperse the crowds.
The protests are taking place alongside the World Economic Forum in Davos—an annual gathering of global political and economic leaders. Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech at the forum.
According to the report, the protesters oppose Trump’s presence at the meeting and have criticized his policies.
