Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, has been re-elected as General Secretary at the country’s 9th Workers’ Party Congress, continuing his 15-year leadership of the sole ruling party.
He announced that the Workers’ Party will focus on strengthening the economy and improving citizens’ living standards in the new term.
International media reported today that during the congress, members of the Central Committee were also elected and some party regulations were amended.
Kim Jong Un has led North Korea since the death of his father, Kim Jong Il, in 2011.
