The ministry stated today (Thursday, 7th of Hoot) on X that the indirect talks between Iran and the U.S. started with a meeting between Iran’s Foreign Minister, , and Oman’s Foreign Minister, .
Iran’s Foreign Ministry added that the success of the talks with the U.S. depends on the seriousness of the other side and avoiding contradictory behaviors and positions.
At the same time, Oman’s Foreign Ministry announced that its minister, after meeting with Araqchi, will meet with the U.S. negotiating team to convey Iran’s views.
The head of Iran’s negotiating team is , while the U.S. delegation is led by , the special representative of President for Middle East affairs.
This third round of Iran-U.S. nuclear talks comes after consultations held last week between the two countries. The talks are taking place amid President Trump’s recent statement in his annual congressional address, in which he said he would not allow Iran to gain access to nuclear weapons.
