International media have reported that intense clashes have occurred between Israeli commando forces and Hezbollah fighters in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon.
Hezbollah announced that the confrontation began after several Israeli military helicopters entered the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon from the direction of Syria.
According to Hezbollah, after the helicopters landed, Israeli forces advancing toward the Nabi Sheet area in eastern Baalbek district of the Bekaa Valley engaged in fighting with Hezbollah fighters.
The statement added that once the position of the Israeli forces was exposed, the clashes intensified and the Israeli army carried out heavy airstrikes in the area. Hezbollah said that after the fighting began, Israeli forces started retreating and evacuating their troops from the region.
According to Hezbollah reports, rockets were fired at the Israeli forces as they were withdrawing.
