Trump Speaks Cautiously About Iran’s New Leader
Donald Trump, the U.S. President, has refrained from making detailed comments regarding the appointment of Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei as Iran’s new leader.
The Times of Israel reported today that Trump, in an interview with the TASS news agency about the new Iranian leader, said: “We’ll see what happens.”
Earlier, the U.S. President had stated that his country should play a role in determining Iran’s new leadership.
Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of former Iranian leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei, was today appointed as Iran’s new leader by the country’s Assembly of Experts.
