North Korea’s state news agency has reported that Kim Jong Un, the country’s leader, has been reappointed as the head of state. According to the report, this appointment took place during a session of the Supreme People’s Assembly in Pyongyang. In this session, in addition to selecting the head of the State Affairs Commission, discussions are held on socialist constitutional amendments and other important matters related to the country’s leadership. Furthermore, the five-year economic plan announced at the Ninth Party Congress in February will be reviewed and approved. The Supreme People’s Assembly, which serves to endorse government policies, is typically convened after the ruling Workers’ Party congress to implement party decisions into enforceable laws.
