Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has announced that the U.S. military rescued two American pilots from “deep within enemy territory” in Iran in two separate operations.

Trump wrote today (Sunday, April 5) in a post on the social media platform Truth Social that one of these operations was carried out in recent hours, during which a senior officer was rescued from mountainous areas of Iran. According to him, the injured service member is now in a “safe and stable” condition.

He added that dozens of military aircraft equipped with “the most lethal weapons” were used in the operation, and that U.S. forces had been monitoring the individual’s location around the clock and planning the rescue.

Trump also reported the rescue of another pilot the day before, saying that the operation had not been disclosed earlier due to concerns that it might jeopardize the second mission.

He described the two operations as “unprecedented” and claimed that the United States has achieved “complete air superiority” over Iranian airspace.
