Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada, has announced that his country stands in “full solidarity” with its Gulf partners and welcomes the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
He also described the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, as well as Iran’s announcement of reopening the Strait of Hormuz, as “positive news.”
In a message posted on X, Carney wrote: “Canada stands in full solidarity with its Gulf partners, who have faced recent retaliatory attacks and economic pressures.”
The Canadian Prime Minister further added that the country welcomes the efforts of France and the United Kingdom to advance coordinated diplomatic initiatives and planning aimed at restoring safe and reliable transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
