Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has described the United States’ seizure of its commercial vessel as illegal, violent, and a violation of the ceasefire agreement.
In a statement, the ministry said that following the seizure of the ship “Toska” by the United States, it has filed an official complaint with the United Nations and the International Maritime Organization.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has warned of the dangerous consequences of the seizure of the “Toska” and has called for the immediate release of the ship and its sailors.
The United States announced yesterday that it had seized the vessel in the Sea of Oman after its crew repeatedly ignored warnings from the US.
US President Donald Trump had previously said that maritime restrictions on Iranian ports would not be lifted until a deal with Iran is reached.
