North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has once again emphasized that Pyongyang supports Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and has pledged to help Moscow achieve victory in what he called a “holy war.”

Agence France-Presse reported today that Pyongyang has so far sent missiles, ammunition, and thousands of troops to support Russia in the war in Ukraine.

In recent days, several senior Russian officials have visited North Korea. In this context, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov told Kim in a meeting that Moscow is ready to sign a military cooperation plan for 2027–2031.

Kim stressed during the meeting that his country “will always fully support the policy of the Russian Federation in defending its national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security interests.”

North Korea and Russia signed a military pact in 2024 under which both countries committed to providing “immediate assistance” to each other in the event of an attack on either side.
