Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend the ceasefire between the two sides for an additional 45 days, a deal reached after two days of talks mediated by the United States in Washington.
The two sides also agreed to hold further meetings in the coming weeks to continue negotiations.
This marks the third round of talks since Israel intensified its airstrikes on Lebanon following Hezbollah’s rocket fire on March 2.
Despite the ceasefire, Hezbollah and Israel have continued to carry out sporadic attacks against each other, with most clashes occurring in southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces maintain control over a security zone.
Reports say that Israeli airstrikes and ground operations in southern Lebanon have so far displaced around 1.2 million people.
