Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has announced that a planned attack against Iran was halted after receiving a peace proposal from Tehran.
The Reuters news agency reported today, citing Trump, that after receiving a new peace proposal from Iran, he instructed the US military that “the planned attack against Iran tomorrow should not be carried out.”
However, the US President warned that if an acceptable agreement is not reached, there remains the possibility of launching a “large-scale and full-fledged attack” against Iran at any moment.
Trump also emphasized that Washington would accept an agreement that prevents Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. “It seems there is a good chance they can reach a deal. If we can do it without heavy bombing, I would be very happy.”
