In a message posted on X early today, Guterres said that millions of people across the globe continue to struggle with extreme poverty, and various factors, including wars, climate crises, and widening economic inequalities, are making their lives even more difficult.
The UN Secretary-General stressed the need for a change in global economic approaches, saying: “We must shape economies that prioritize people and continue our fight to reduce and end poverty.”
