The U.S. Secretary of State said during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee meeting that, under the current situation, no Afghan asylum seekers are being allowed entry into the United States.
Marco Rubio, in response to Senator Chris Coons’ question regarding the fate of around 1,100 Afghan asylum seekers in Qatar, said that these individuals would be resettled in other safe countries.
He added that the United States has held talks with several countries regarding the possible acceptance of some of these Afghan asylum seekers.
